Gippsland Lakes Yacht Club and the Australian Wētā Class Association (AWCA) invite you to the 2022-23 Australian Wētā Nationals. With the growth in the class over the last 2 years, we are expecting over 30 boats racing.
GLYC is situated in the heart of Paynesville on the shores of Lake Victoria, part of the Gippsland Lakes. The Lakes is the largest navigable inland waterway in Australia and has a reputation for fantastic flat-water sailing. Just 3.5 hours from Melbourne on the south-east coast of Victoria, separated from Bass Strait by the 90 Mile Beach land barrier it enjoys steady prevailing winds of 10-14kn SSE in January.

Regatta entry includes up to 10 races (1 of which may be a passage race), Welcome dinner on Sunday 1st January and food platters at Presentation Friday 6th January. We're planning some daily prizes on race days, a social sail on the lay day and Todd is putting up a sef-tacker as a door prize at Presentation! Registration is available up to 11am on Sunday 1st January (although it's more helpful if you register earlier!)
Have a read through the Welcome Pack to find out more about Paynesville, New Years Eve and the Regatta itself. Pay close attention to the Passage Race options... you may want to print off the maps and laminate them before heading to Paynesville!
